I Can Breathe Again!

Today's surgery went very well. I've been seeing different doctors and even plastic surgeons for almost four years now for a mysterious little lump on the right side of my nose. It would swell up and block breathing on that side and was quite visible on the outside. Until I went to SFGH, doctors had just given me a quick look, prescribed me nosespray and sent me on my way. I even cancelled my Kaiser plan because I was tired of going in time and time again, paying my co-pay only to be told, "maybe its allergies", or "I don't see anything". It caused dizziness, sleeping problems, lack of smells and some tastes, and most of all, irribility! As of lately, it was getting worse, triggers included red wine, seabass, clove cigarette smoke, and ANY rise in body temperature - which put me out of martial arts. So finally the great Doctors at General recognized that I really did have a problem and scheduled me a surgery appointment within two weeks.
So, with about five hours of nervous sleep, I went in at 6:30 this morning. I nervously put on the hospital garb and half a dozen people came by and asked me questions, making sure of everything. Then the anesthesiologist came by again and put something in my IV that he said was like valium, and they wheeled me into the surgery room. All I remember is coming through the door. When I woke up in recovery, I could TOTALLY breathe! I am so happy. Right now I am experiencing a little bit of swelling from the procedure and some blood boogers but what hurts most is my throat from the breathing tube. I feel so much better and just, different. I should be OK to go back to work on Friday, and to take my scooter in to get my clutch lever fixed that was broken on Sunday.
